1. About this policy
This policy explains how Halx Studios Ltd looks after personal information collected through this website, https://halxstudios.com. This is our company marketing site.
Personal and care information handled inside our Halx Together product is governed by that product’s own privacy notice, not this policy.
2. Who we are

4. What we collect on this website
This is a simple information site — it has no accounts, no sign-up and no forms. We keep data collection to a minimum:
- Analytics data — if you consent, Google Analytics 4 collects information about how you use the site (such as pages viewed, approximate location and device/browser type). See our Cookie Policy for the cookies involved.
- Email correspondence — if you email us (for example, via a mailto: link), we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us, so we can reply.
- Server logs — our hosting provider may process basic technical data (such as IP address and request time) to serve the site securely and reliably.
5. Why we use it, and our legal basis
| What we use | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics data | To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. | Consent |
| Email correspondence | To receive and respond to messages you choose to send us. | Legitimate interests |
| Server logs | To operate, secure and troubleshoot the website. | Legitimate interests |
Where we rely on consent (analytics), no analytics cookies or identifiers are set until you choose “Accept”, and you can withdraw consent at any time via Cookie settings. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance these against your rights and use the minimum data needed.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, acting on our instructions:
- Google (Google Analytics) — where you have consented. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — our hosting provider, which stores and serves the website from its London (eu-west-2) region in the UK.
- Microsoft (Microsoft 365) — our email provider, which processes any correspondence you send us so we can receive and reply to it.
7. International transfers
Some providers (such as Google and Microsoft) may process personal information outside the UK. Where this involves an international transfer, we ensure that appropriate protections are in place as required by UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards.
8. How long we keep it
Google Analytics user-level and event-level data is retained for 14 months, in line with our Google Analytics settings, after which it is automatically deleted in accordance with Google’s retention process. Emails are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry and for any subsequent business, legal or record-keeping purposes. Server logs are normally deleted after 31 days unless we need to retain them for longer to investigate a security incident.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, under UK data protection law you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, restrict or object to its use, and receive certain personal information in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details in Section 3.
10. Automated decision-making
We do not use the personal information covered by this policy to make solely automated decisions about you that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you.
11. Complaints
We hope to resolve any concern you raise. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk. The ICO also publishes helpful guidance on your data protection rights — see the ICO’s guidance for the public.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
